In 1935, Ivan Allister Lewis, an engineer in Leeds, UK, noticed that water network failures were often caused by poor-quality valves rather than the pipes themselves.
Motivated to find a lasting solution, he developed a smarter, more durable valve. He founded IVAL — a name inspired by his initials — to reflect his vision of innovation and practicality.
Working from a small workshop, Ivan tested his prototypes with local engineers. After two years, he secured his first government contract to upgrade an aging water system. Success followed quickly.
By 2018, IVAL had grown into a trusted manufacturer of industrial and municipal valves, expanding into the Middle East.
